Maintenance Laborer (1 probationary)Salary: $55, 268MAINTENANCE LABORER DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Incumbents of this class perform a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks. The work involves the performance of tasks requiring some special knowledge or skill that is usually acquired on the job. This class is under the direct supervision of a Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Foreperson or General Foreman. Does related work as required.DUTIES:Performs general building and grounds maintenance tasksMows lawns, shovels snow, rakes, removes garbageAssists in inspection of propertiesAssists in maintaining athletic fieldsAssists in performing carpentry, painting, masonry and roofing workMakes electrical, plumbing and heating repairsPerforms a variety of other semi-skilled and unskilled workREQUIRED SKILLS:Efficiency in the use of hand tools and machine toolsAbility to perform semi-skilled manual tasks without constant supervisionAbility to learn mechanical skills and methodsAbility to follow directionsWorking knowledge of construction or maintenance tradesPhysical condition commensurate with the demands of the positionEXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One year of experience as a helper in any of the skilled trades.Full time Position with benefits; 12 month position; Tuesday through Saturday with flexibility for seasonal needsIn order to apply, please submit your information through OLAS by February 16, 2024.
