Port Chester High SchoolBilingual High School Counselor Position Opening - 2025-2026 Academic YearStart Date: September 1, 2025Position Overview:Port Chester High School is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Bilingual School Counselor to join our counseling department for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Bilingual School Counselor will provide comprehensive school counseling services to students, with a particular focus on supporting our Spanish-speaking student population and their families. The counselor will work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to promote academic achievement, personal growth, and social-emotional well-being.Responsibilities:Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.Develop and implement school-wide programs and initiatives to promote a positive school climate and student success.Conduct needs assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate interventions.Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and implement student support plans.Provide crisis intervention and support to students and families in need.Facilitate parent workshops and meetings to enhance parent involvement and understanding of school resources.Advocate for students and their families, ensuring access to necessary resources and support services.Provide college and career counseling, including assistance with college applications and financial aid.Act as a liaison between the school and community resources.Other duties as assigned by the Principal.Qualifications:Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.Valid New York State Certification as a School Counselor.Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
