It is anticipated that the following full-time positions are available for the 2024-2025 school year effective September 1, 2024Teaching Assistant(s) - High School (Bilingual Spanish)The Port Chester Public Schools seek motivated and dynamic educators who will be responsible for supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons to a diverse student population. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Uses instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction of students with a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturity. Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and help the students make a satisfactory transition to school. Establishes and maintains standards of classroom management required to achieve effective participation in all activities. Provides appropriate instruction and activities for students to meet school/district policies, goals and objectives. Cooperates with other professional staff members to deliver the instructional program. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or professional growth activities and university courses.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED The position requires current NYS certification in the area of Teaching Assistant (Level I, II, or III). Individuals with a valid NYS teaching certification are also highly encouraged to apply. Bilingual - Spanish preferred
