It is anticipated that the following positions will be available for the 2022-2023 school year: District-Wide Position: Supervisor of K-8 Teaching and Learning Certification Required: NYS Certification SDA/SDL/SBL QualificationsThe candidate will possess:Successful experience as a teacher in an elementary or middle school setting Excellent teaching, coaching, communication, and presentation skillsThorough knowledge of the Next Generation State Standards K-8Qualities of effective leadership, including collaboration, self-reflection, personal developmentProven ability and skillset to effectively communicate with all stakeholdersSkilled in the area of data-driven decision makingStrong interest and capacity to provide leadership in literacy, mathematics, and RTI A and B DutiesInclude but are not limited to the following in order to improve instruction and student achievement:Assist with the research, pilot, and implementation of all district-adopted curriculum programsProvide leadership in the search, revision, and implementation of curriculum programs and assessment toolsProvide leadership in all assessment implementation, including STAR, NYS Assessment Program, IRLA/ENILAnalyze and share data with all stakeholders, in accordance with the district’s Essential AgreementsUse data to make informed recommendations and decisions around teaching and learningProvide leadership in the use of data to teachers and administrators, leading to student growth and achievementProvide learning opportunities and PD to teachers and administrators as related to the positionProvide leadership in the organization and coordination of grade 5 to 6 transition between the elementary and middle school levelsProvide leadership in the usage of district instructional software programs; analyze data for trends and needsCoordinate, streamline, and align the RTI A and B processes K-8Assist in the organization and planning for extended day and extended year programming for studentsProvide leadership with differentiation, exceptional learners' programming, enrichment opportunitiesAssist teachers and administrators in identifying instructional goals that match student, grade level, and building needs while promoting high expectations for student performanceAssist in ensuring teachers are meeting the NYS Next Generation Standards, including the organization of curriculum mapping, planning, and design opportunities for teachersProvide leadership in Social-Emotional Learning and school climate programs and professional developmentPromote student-centered instruction and engagement, with a strong focus on hands-on, experiential learning Oversee the K-5 science program Provide guidance, support, and direction to Instructional Support SpecialistsConduct informal observations of teachersAssist in the development and implementation of a Professional Development Calendar that ensures a strong presence of best practices in teaching and learning, student engagement, and a focus on the current district initiativesAttend local and regional trainings for best practices in teaching and learningProvide leadership in the area of parent communication and support Prepare reports, spreadsheets, etc. for the Assistant Superintendent as requestedOther duties as assigned by the Superintendent/designee
