This posting is for a districtwide Bilingual Speech and Language Pathologist (English/Spanish) holding a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) with bilingual extension or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) with bilingual extension in New York State. Requirements: NYS Certification - Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) with bilingual extension or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) with bilingual extension BCBA and/or PROMPT certification is highly preferredExperience providing services to students with disabilities in grades K-5Extensive knowledge and experience of service approaches for students with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders, and/or multiple disabilitiesExpertise in implementing Behavior Intervention PlansStrong written and verbal communication skillsResponsibilities include but not limited to the following:Provide in classroom direct student interventions and consultations.Conduct evaluations inclusive of curriculum-based language assessment.Conduct student’s observations in academic setting.Apply proficiency with IEPDirect to manage CSE and 504 records.Participate at CSE and 504 meetings.Confer with teachers, students, parents, and related service providers regarding data.and adaptations to the classroom environment to support language development.Deliver all assigned speech and language services as per student's IEP and Speech and Language Improvement programs.Knowledge of current trends in bilingual speech and language, research methods, testing and evaluation techniques.Maintain accurate records, service logs and Medicaid related documents.Conduct screenings of students.Complete other Speech and Language Therapist related duties as assigned by the School Principal, the Director of Special Education and/or their designee.
