ANTICIPATED POSITION AVAILABLE 2026-2027 POSTING # 045-26-27 APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 10, 2026 POSITION: Social Studies Teacher Grades 7-12 QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must hold valid New York State Certification in Social Studies Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply COMMENTS: Must be creative and passionate instructional leader who possess the ability to motivate students to strive for academic excellence. Successful candidates will work in a fast paced, challenging environment that is dedicated to academic and social success for all students. RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with colleagues and utilize various curriculum resources to create objective-based lessons aligned to current NYS learning standards. Actively engage students in the delivery of high-quality instruction. Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all students. Utilize data to inform instructional decisions. Establish a supportive classroom environment that provides for the social-emotional learning of all students. Grade student work and maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades. Effectively communicate with parents and students regarding academic progress. Attend required meetings and participate in professional development opportunities. Provide instruction that reflects the diverse educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. Collaborate with special education and ENL teachers to ensure supports, accommodations, and modifications are effectively delivered. Design formative and summative assessments aligned to state standards to monitor student understanding and guide instructional planning. Integrate literacy skills—including close reading, evidence-based writing, and disciplinary vocabulary—into daily instruction to support student success across content areas.
