ANTICIPATED POSITION AVAILABLE 2026-2027 POSTING # 043-26-27 APPLICATION DEADLINE : April 10, 2026 POSITION: Secondary TESOL ELA Teacher REQUIREMENTS: Must possess New York State TESOL and English Language Arts (ELA) Must possess both certifications to be eligible. COMMENTS: Must be a creative and passionate instructional leader who possesses the ability to motivate students to strive for academic excellence. Successful candidates will work in a fast paced, challenging environment that is dedicated to academic and social success for all students. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide ENL instruction to English Language Learners (ELLs) in push-in and/or pull-out settings Deliver standards-based ELA lessons aligned with New York State learning standards to support literacy development Differentiate instruction based on students’ language proficiency and individual learning needs Support language acquisition and literacy development, including vocabulary, pronunciation, and academic writing Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments, including preparation for NYS assessments Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, and support staff to support multilingual learners Maintain accurate student records and documentation Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and learning goals Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives REPORTS TO : Academic Director/Building Administration/Assistant Superintendent for Instruction SALARY : Salary range in accordance with PMCT contract LOCATION: TBD EFFECTIVE : September 1, 2026 EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS : All costs associated with these employment requirements are the responsibility of the employee: Fingerprint clearance from the NY State Department of Education (NYSED) Drug Screening Physical Examination Patchogue-Medford Schools is an equal opportunity employer.
