CiTi BOCES Career & Technical Education (CTE) department is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Assistant Principal to join its leadership team. The Assistant Principal supports the principal in fostering a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning environment that promotes student achievement, strong school culture, and operational excellence.Position Overview:The Assistant Principal provides leadership in instruction, student support, school operations, and community engagement. The successful candidate will be a visible and collaborative leader who builds strong relationships with students, staff, and families.Key Responsibilities:Instructional LeadershipSupervise and evaluate staff in accordance with NYSED guidelines.Support curriculum implementation and instructional improvement.Promote high levels of student engagement and academic achievement.Use data to inform decision-making and school improvement efforts.Student Support & School CultureOversee student attendance, discipline, and behavioral supports.Support implementation of MTSS and other intervention systems.Promote a positive, inclusive, and restorative school climate.Collaborate with counselors, social workers, and support staff to ensure student success.Operations & ComplianceAssist with scheduling, staffing, and daily school operations.Ensure compliance with NYSED regulations and district policies.Support safety planning and crisis response procedures.Family & Community EngagementServe as a liaison between school and families.Support communication with community partners.Represent the school at events and meetings as needed.Qualifications:New York State School Building Leader (SBL) certification (or eligibility).Successful experience as a classroom teacher is required; experience in CTE is preferred.Demonstrated leadership capacity and strong communication skills.Knowledge of NYS graduation requirements, instructional best practices, and student support systems.
