Qualifications:NYS School Administrator, NYS School District Administrator Certification, or eligibility.At least (5) five years experience in education.Strong commitment to children.Demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of curriculum development and school improvement.Knowledge of the New York State Learning Standards and understanding of effective classroom instruction.Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.Reports to and evaluated by:Building PrincipalPerformance Responsibilities: Assists Principal in administering the educational programs.Assists Principal in setting up student and teaching schedules.Assists Principal in preparing the building budget for his/her building.Assists Principal in observing and evaluating faculty and staff and making reports.Assists in interpreting and administering school policy, regulations and negotiated contracts.Administers Safety Programs in the building including fire drills.Assists with student disciplinary duties as well as the supervision of student activities.Communicates effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff and administration.Performs other tasks that may be assigned by the Building Principal.Terms of Employment:This is a (12) twelve month position. Salary is established in accordance with the Ossining Association of Administrators and Supervisors contract. The Ossining School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
