Qualifications:NYS School District Administrator CertificationPrior Teaching and Administrative ExperienceMajor Responsibilities and Functions:Coordinate and evaluate the instructional programs district-wide.Develop curriculum content PK-12; develop and maintain appropriate curriculum review process.Organize and administer PK-12 instructional programs and facilitate program improvement.Maintain awareness of current innovative instructional programs and practices and educational research and introduce them to appropriate teachers and administrators. Coordinate activities relating to the district-wide curriculum planning.Prepare curriculum and instructional program-related reports and surveys.Develop methods of assessment by collecting data and analyzing information in order to improve outcomes and monitor implementation in progress.Collaborate with pupil personnel services the curriculum for the PK-12 inclusion program.Plan, develop, direct, and implement the immediate and long-range goals of the district’s instructional program.Recommend instructional program priorities to the Superintendent.Develop and coordinate the sections of the budget that pertain to curriculum and instruction. Work with administration and teachers in organizing and coordinating grade level and departmental meetings in order to affect continuity and articulation of the instructional program.Encourage the development, publication, and use of new instructional materials by the professional staff.Observe teachers and offer insights for the enhancement of the teaching-learning situation.Study, evaluate, and recommend adoption of new instructional material, methods, and programs, including the use of instructional technology.Interpret the curriculum and its philosophy to the Board, administration, staff, and general public.Coordinate the dissemination of information to staff and community as it relates to the instructional program.Responsible for BOCES services related to the area of instruction, except special education.Participate in policy recommendations related to the instructional program.Assist in the recruiting, interviewing, screening, and assigning of qualified candidates for teaching positions.Plan and supervise the instructional orientation program for new teachers in collaboration with other administrators.Maintain liaison and active participation with educational leaders in curriculum and instruction at local, state, regional, and national levels.Supervise subject area curriculum directors/teacher leaders/instructional coaches.Analyze and interpret achievement data; lead administrative team in developing data-based instructional planning.Assist the Superintendent of Schools or his designees in other areas designated by the Superintendent.Terms of Employment: This is a (12) twelve month position.
