Job DescriptionOssining UFSD is looking to hire a Mental Health School Counselor for Anne M. Dorner Middle School and Ossining High School.Minimum Qualifications:Trained in counseling and psychotherapy to treat individuals with mental and emotional disorders and other behavioral challenges.Earned a Master's Degree from a Mental Health Counseling ProgramLicensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Clinical Mental Health CounselorResponsibilities:This person will provide culturally responsive mental health support to children and youth.Responsibilities include:Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.Monitor progress throughout the treatment plan.Collaborate on intervention plans with other mental health specialists, doctors, nurses, social workers and administrative personnel.Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients admitted to the hospital.Facilitate and lead re-entry meetings post-hospitalizationsMake outside referrals when necessaryConsult with primary care, building level support, supervisor and referral sources, as neededOrganize wrap around support meeting when needed with parents & relevant partnersRevise/Lead Response around Suicidality (from Prevention to Postvention)Create and Lead Parent-Community Programming as delineated by Supervisor (evening as needed) including but not limited to, Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, Suicidality, Substance Abuse etc.Be a leader in Mental Health Crisis Response at the Building LevelEngage in Mental Health and Substance Prevention efforts and coordination 5th - 8thThe Ossining School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
