Ossining High School will need a Physics Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.Position Overview: Ossining High School is seeking a dedicated and qualified Physics Teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and have the ability to inspire and engage students in the study of physics.The candidate must hold a New York State teaching certification in Physics for grades 7-12, ensuring they meet the state’s educational standards and requirements for teaching this subject.The candidate should demonstrate a robust understanding of physics and engineering principles, showcasing their ability to convey complex scientific concepts effectively to high school students.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the candidate will need to engage with students, parents, and colleagues in a clear and professional manner.Proficiency in using technology in the classroom is crucial, as the candidate will be expected to integrate various digital tools (PASCO) and resources to enhance the learning experience.The candidate should have substantial experience teaching Physics and Advanced Physics courses, indicating their capability to handle a diverse range of topics and student abilities.A thorough knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS) is necessary to ensure the curriculum aligns with current educational benchmarks.Experience with project-based learning and hands-on lab activities is important, as these methods foster critical thinking and practical application of scientific theories.The candidate should also be adept at incorporating social-emotional learning strategies to support students’ overall well-being and development, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.The candidate should be skilled in developing robust lesson plans that are engaging, comprehensive, and aligned with educational standards.The candidate should strive to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to participate actively.This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and guide students in physics.
