The Oriskany Central School District Transportation Department is seeking qualified Substitute School Bus Drivers.Requirements:Fingerprinting Required.Valid Class B or C CDL license with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements.Must be 21 years old or older. Able to pass pre-employment/ random drug test.Able to meet all NYS 19-A and NYSED qualifications. Duties:- Safely operate a School Bus to transport students to and from designated locations - Ensure the safety and well-being of all students on board - Provide excellent customer service to students, including assisting with boarding and disembarking - Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior - Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the bus - Communicate effectively with students and address any concerns or questions they may have - Adhere to established routes and schedules - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in proper working conditionExperience:- Previous experience as a bus driver preferred, but not required - Experience working with children or in childcare settings is beneficial - Ability to manage passenger behavior effectively - Strong customer service skills - Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting and maintenance of the busAs a School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in providing safe and reliable transportation for students. Your ability to communicate effectively, manage student behavior, and provide excellent customer service will contribute to a positive experience for all students.Pay: $20.35 per hour
