SUMMARY: The Orchard School supports children with complex emotional needs and disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Orchard School is seeking an experienced administrator to lead the various programs and services that meet the complex needs of each enrolled child. The Principal must have exceptional skills in leadership, program operations, and family engagement.REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Master’s Degree in Education or related field (Ph.D. Preferred)• NYS School Building Leader Certification• NYS Special Education Certification• NYS Teacher Certificate• 7+ years school Administrator experience• 5+ years classroom teaching experience• Strong oral and written communication skills• Valid NYS Driver’s LicenseESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Understanding and supporting the agency’s mission & treatment philosophy• Management of day-to-day operations of the Orchard School and collaborate with seniorleadership in the short and long-term strategic planning process for the school program• Ensures that school programs are of high quality, safely managed, and fiscally sound• Assessing, planning and facilitating staff development with other members of theleadership team• Manages all documentation and ensures reporting is completed in a clear, accurate andtimely fashion• Works effectively in collaboration with others on the Orchard School Leadership teamBEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS: as a trauma-informed organization, all employees are expected to adopt these 7 commitments:1.
