Temporary VacancyConfidential Treasurer Administrative SpecialistThis position supports Business Office functions involving important account keeping work including responsibility for the frequent exercise of independent judgement in planning and managing complex accounting, checking and clerical activities. It requires knowledge of school district accounting procedures; Ability to keep current regarding all pertinent education and local finance laws, Commissioner’s Regulations, and directives of the Comptroller of the State of New York; Proven ability to work independently, perform assigned tasks timely, accurately, and thoroughly. Highly skilled in presenting written and oral comments and opinions clearly and concisely; Solves problems with integrity and tact. Possess strong technical skills, including excel and word. Experience with nVision software preferred. This position reports to the Business Manager. Does related work as required. Duties• Responsible for banking, wire & ACH transfers, maintains cash balances and investments, journal entries, district funded 403b payouts, sales tax filing. Maintains the general ledger and oversees cash receipts /disbursements for all funds. Act as signatory on all district disbursements.• Knowledge of contracts and benefit calculations• Assists internal and external auditors with the annual review.• Supervises the district’s financial activities such as, but not limited to, cash flow, investments, deposits, state reports, audits, bonding activities, capital projects, and borrowing.• Prepare annual financial report (ST-3) and assist with annual State Aid Claim documents.• Assist with district administrators on oversight of federal grants and scholarship distribution.• Responsible for calculation of retirement payouts.• Responsible for Retiree Health and Dental Benefits• Acts as a backup for Payroll and Benefits Clerk• Reports to Board of Education monthly regarding cash and collateral.Qualificationsa)Possession of an Associate’s degree and one (1) year of clerical, administrative or office management experience which shall have involved maintaining electronic records in a database or spreadsheet application and preparing reports; or b)Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of clerical, administrative or office management experience which shall have involved maintaining electronic records in a database or spreadsheet application and preparing reports; or c)An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b). Note: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education / U.S. Secretary of Education.Application Deadline: April 5, 2023EOE
