The Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented candidates for the position of Clerk of the Cooperative Board of Education/Assistant Personnel Technician. Responsibilities include:Creating monthly Board packets to be distributed to Cooperative Board membersPreparing meeting room and making additional arrangements for monthly Cooperative Board of Education meetingsAttending all meetings of the Cooperative Board of Education (one evening meeting per month)Recording the full minutes of the meetings of the Cooperative Board of EducationTranscribing the minutes of the Cooperative Board of Education and posting/distributing such minutes as requiredArranging publication of all notices regarding to BOCES Cooperative meetings as required by lawMaking arrangements for the BOCES annual meetingConducting the annual reorganizational meeting of the Cooperative Board of Education until officers are sworn inAdministering Oaths of Office to officers and other Board appointed staff membersPreparing travel and conference requests for Cooperative Board membersDeveloping reports as requested by the Cooperative Board of EducationInitiating annual Cooperative Board of Education election proceedingsPreparing correspondence of the Cooperative Board of Education as requestedMaintaining and updating the annual calendar of the Cooperative Board of EducationAssisting and preparing necessary documents for the administration of a scholarship fundAnswering phones, filing paperwork, preparing memorandums and reports, and performing additional clerical functions in the Human Resources department as assignedNECESSARY SKILLSAttention to detailProficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe AcrobatMust obtain a Notary Public certificate and stamp subsequent to date of hireAbility to multitaskStrong communication skillsQUALIFICATIONSPossession of Associate's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, or Labor Relations, or in a closely related field AND one (1) year of clerical experience involving customer service and account keeping activities; ORGraduation from high school or a high school equivalency diploma AND satisfactory completion of a minimum of thirty (30) college credit hours from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university AND two (2) years of clerical experience involving customer service and account keeping activities; ORGraduation from high school or a high school equivalency diploma AND three (3) years of clerical experience involving customer service and account keeping activities.Must take and pass Civil Service exam when offered (Assistant Personnel Technician)SALARY AND BENEFITS$38,000 – $45,000 depending on qualifications and experienceMonday – Friday, 35 hour work week plus one evening per monthHealth and dental benefits availableLife insurance policyParticipation in NY State & Local Retirement SystemOptional 403(b) benefitsPaid time off to include vacation days, sick days, family days, personal days, and holidaysPlease submit a letter of interest and resume.
