Elementary Special Education Anticipated probationary position 2026-2027We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Special Education Teacher for a probationary position. This role involves working collaboratively to support students with diverse learning needs within a structured and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with differentiated instruction, behavior management strategies, and a strong commitment to fostering academic and social-emotional growth in students with disabilities.Responsibilities:Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to address academic, social, and behavioral goals.Provide evidence-based instruction to meet the unique learning needs of students with disabilities.Work collaboratively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.Implement reading interventions and other specialized instructional strategies to promote literacy and comprehension skills.Apply behavior management strategies, including proactive interventions and de-escalation techniques, to support students effectively.Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and communication with families.Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that fosters independence, engagement, and self-advocacy.Qualifications:Special Education Certification required (New York State certification preferred).Experience with reading interventions and behavior management techniques preferred.Strong commitment to professional development and working within a multidisciplinary team.If you are committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of students with disabilities and are eager to grow as an educator, we encourage you to apply.The Oceanside School District is a leader in educational excellence and student achievement.
