In this capacity, the Business Administrator will supervise theBusiness Office staff, maintain a system for the preservation of all financial transactions in theDistrict, be responsible for accounting and audit functions, invest district funds and supervisecash flow, and is responsible for any additional duties requested by the Superintendent andAssistant Superintendent for Business.Essential job functions for Business Administrator:• Supervise Business Office staff (Payroll, Accounting, and Purchasing Agent)• Assist with the budget development process to align with the district’s instructional goals• Collaborates with leadership for contract negotiations with all bargaining units• Oversee and manage local, state, and federal grants• Responsible for all accounting functions• Coordinate all aspects of independent external, internal, and claims audits• Preparation of annual financial statements including GASB regulations• Review of the preparation of monthly Treasurer’s Report and collateral statements• Initiates electronic payments and transfers as authorized• Works with financial institutions to ensure that funds are secured and income is maximized• Prepares annual cash flows and determines short-term and long-term borrowing needs• Preparation and filing of all financial records with state and federal agencies• Coding and reporting for all capital projects• Ensures fiscal accountability of all fundsThe Oceanside School District is a leader in educational excellence and student achievement.
