Job Title: Before School Care Program Staff (Certified Teacher/Certified Teaching Assistant)Location: Liberty ES, Upper Nyack ES, and Valley Cottage ESProgram Hours: When school is in session, 7:05 - 8:35 AM, Monday – FridayStart Date: Tuesday, September 2, 2025 Program Overview:The Before School Care Program provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for elementary students prior to the start of the regular school day. Staffed by certified teachers and certified teaching assistants, the program focuses on social-emotional support, and structured activities. Responsibilities:Teachers and Teaching Assistants will:Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all timesFoster a positive and welcoming environment for students as they transition into the school dayLead or support structured activities, including games, quiet reading, arts and crafts, and light academic reviewAssist with student arrival procedures and maintain accurate attendance recordsCommunicate effectively with families, school staff, and program coordinatorsImplement and reinforce PBIS school-wide expectations Respond to emergencies and follow school health/safety protocolsSet up and break-down activity spaces and materialsQualifications:Current New York State Teacher Certification and Valid New York State Teaching Assistant CertificationExperience working with children in school or structured youth settingsStrong communication and organizational skillsCompensation:The rate for this position will be paid at the Remedial After School/STARS hourly rate. (This rate of pay does not indicate that the duties of this position include providing Remedial After School or STARS instruction.)Teaching Assistants: Hourly rate
