Nyack Public Schools is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure track Orchestra Teacher position serving middle school (6-8) students in a vibrant, diverse community for the 2023-2024 school year. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching strings with an emphasis on music literacy, students’ social emotional well-being, equity, and social justice. Candidates must be certified in Music Education and should demonstrate strong knowledge of string pedagogy, outstanding conducting/rehearsal skills, strong knowledge of appropriate string repertoire, and effective use of technology in the classroom. Qualities required include Departmental, Building, and District-wide collaboration, excellent communication skills, and culturally responsive teaching. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
