The work performed covers a wide variety of maintenance and installation work completed on a fine or finished basis and requires a high degree of skill. Employees are frequently called upon to plan, perform and finish skilled maintenance and repair work covering several buildings and mechanical trade areas. Assignments are usually received verbally, and the employee is given considerable latitude in planning and carrying out the work assigned. The Maintenance Worker II usually works independently but may, on some projects, supervise subordinate employees. Work is reviewed through inspection in progress or upon completion by a superior. Does related work as required.Position requires a wide range of ability in multiple building trades, the district is currently seeking a candidate with a high level of skill in the HVAC trade.Required Experience: Five (5) years of full time paid work experience in skilled maintenance and repair tasks in at least one of the major trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical or HVAC. Thorough knowledge of the standard tools, materials, methods and practices of the trade to which assigned. Good knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
