Position: Director of Elementary Education and English Language Arts Position Description:This position oversees all aspects of:Elementary education; PK-12 English Language Arts (ELA); Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) programs; K-4 Academic Intervention Services (AIS); Instructional Coaches (TOSA’s), K-4 Standards Based Reporting; K-4 Universal Screening; K-12 Response to Intervention (RTI) This position oversees curriculum in the following academic areas: PK-12 ELA K-4 AIS UPK This position is responsible for conducting annual APPR evaluations: All elementary principals This position is responsible for conducting “PLP only” (tied to APPR) evaluations: Instructional Coaches Literacy Coordinator UPK Coordinator The Director of Elementary reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Key Responsibilities:Supervisory/Evaluative ResponsibilitiesAnnual APPR evaluation of all Elementary PrincipalsSupervision and Annual PLP’s of Instructional Coaches, Literacy Coordinator and UPK CoordinatorSupervision of K-4 AIS TeachersElementary SchoolsSupervise all components of elementary school operationsPK-12 ELA curriculumDistrict ELA CommitteesPK-12 ELA curriculum decisions and implementationPK-12 ELA Professional DevelopmentSupervision of District Instructional Coaches and CoordinatorsSupervise and coordinate all personnelK-4 AISCurriculum/intervention decisions and implementationProfessional developmentStaffing of K-4 AIS Teachers in relation to district RTI planStandards based reportingOversees and is responsible for all aspects of the K-4 Report card.Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK)Oversees and coordinates all community-based programsCurriculum decisions/implementationProfessional DevelopmentCoordinates all aspects of NYSED UPK Grant(s)Universal ScreeningOversees and is responsible for all aspects of the district K-12 Universal Screening tools.Response to Intervention (RTI)Responsible for facilitating district RTI initiatives in coordination with Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning.Responsibility is assumed for submission of reports in areas under the supervision of the Director of Elementary as required by law, regulation or district need.Oversees all aspects of the annual Grade 5-8 Spelling BeeAdditional duties as directed by the Superintendent of Schools.Apply on OLAS
