The Niskayuna Central School District has an opening and is now accepting applications for a probationary track TOSA - Social Emotional (SEL) Coach for Behavior.ASSIGNMENT: District-wide; 10 months per year.GENERAL STATEMENT:• Valid NYS certification as a School Social Worker, School Psychologist or Special Education teacher• BCBA or coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred• Must have strong working knowledge of PBIS/RtI/MTSS• Experience working with children/adolescents with a variety of psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders• Experience supporting teams in developing Functional Behavioral Assessments/Behavior Intervention Plans/and other positive behavioral support plans• Experience working with staff and administrators on interventions to support student behavior• Experience support students in the general education and special education setting• Preferred candidates will also have deep familiarity with TCISRESPONSIBILITIES:• Provides consultation regarding best practices of MTSS (tiered interventions) implementation, related to social-emotional learning• Assists administration with the development and implementation of district wide policies, practices and procedures• Provides consultation and intervention regarding behavior management, effective education and assessment of behavioral needs of students with and without disabilities• Conducts student consultations to inform behavior support practices• Designs, implements and monitors behavior programs for students• Prepares written reports, as needed by the district to outside psychiatric professionals/community agencies re: behavioral concerns of students with or without disabilities• Conducts classroom observations to support behavior related management & instruction• Possesses the ability to conduct functional behavioral assessments and design, implement and monitor behavior intervention plans• Provides teacher-coaching & support related to classroom management• Collects & analyzes data to inform behavioral practices across the district• Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS: New York State Teacher Certification: School Social Worker, School Psychologist or Students with DisabilitiesNiskayuna will only accept completed applications which must also include the following materials which should be uploaded to your application:• Cover letter• Resume• Letters of reference (3)• Transcript(s)• Essay answering why you chose teaching as a profession and why you wish to work for the districtAdditional information to support your candidacy may include: membership in professional organizations, participation in community or professional activities, your interest in Niskayuna, scholastic or professional distinctions, art/music training, leadership interests.NOTE: Selected applicants will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
