The Niskayuna Central School District has an anticipated opening and is now accepting applications for an Occupational Therapist 1.0 FTE.ASSIGNMENT: 10 months per yearTYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:• Provides occupational therapy services directed toward the development and/or maintenance of a child's physical potential for functioning in all educational activities;• Serves as a consultant to staff, parents, and the Committee on Special Education regarding occupational therapy techniques;• Prepares and maintains records including, but not limited, to statistical reports on the frequency and types of treatment and number of students treated;• Participates in student evaluation conferences;• Make recommendations to supervisors for ordering supplies and equipment;• Identifies adaptive equipment to permit a child to function more independently in the classroom;• Communicates and coordinates with consulting and/or family physicians regarding the implementation of student's treatment plan;• Performs a variety of related duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be licensed and registered by the New York State Education Department as an Occupational Therapist.NOTE: Selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.The Niskayuna Central School District is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age.
