POSITION: Special Education Teacher Secondary Level (Leave Replacement) EFFECTIVE DATE: September 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026 LOCATION: North Salem Middle/High School DESCRIPTION: -Responsible for teaching students with disabilities at the secondary level with multiple disabilities and intensive needs in the area of academics, language, communication, and activities of daily living-Collaborate and coordinate with teachers, related service services to support the implementation of students’ Individualized Education Programs-Communicate professionally with colleagues and administrators to support student outcomes-Develop and maintain positive working relationships and excellent communication with families in support of students-Actively embrace the District mission QUALIFICATIONS: -New York State Certification as a Special Education Teacher at the Secondary Level (Grades 7-12)-Experience administering the New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSSA)-Experience with teaching multiple subject areas and maintaining highly qualified status in core subjects at the secondary level-Experience designed individualized program through the lens of Specially Designed Instruction to support students and their individualized and intensive needs.-Experience working with students with AAC devices-Experience working with students with intensive medical needs-Extensive knowledge of the CSE process-Experience with administering, scoring, and interpreting assessment instruments for CSE planning-Experience with working with students with autism and/or multiple disabilities APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 1, 2025 In addition to applying on OLASLETTER OF INTEREST& RESUME TO: Dr. Kelly Rudyk Director of Pupil Personnel Services North Salem Central School District 230 June Road North Salem, NY 10560 (914) 669-5414, Ext. 1016 Fax: (914) 669-8753 E-mail: krudyk@northsalemschools.org
