POSITION: Director of Pupil Personnel Services The North Salem Central School District is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Pupil Personnel Services. This is a full-time 12-month administrative position which includes a highly competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Valid NYS administrative certification (SDA or SDL) is required. LOCATION: District Office SALARY: $195,000 - $200,000 Annually qualifications: NYS Certification as a School District Administrator DEADLINE: October 1, 2024 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Successful professional experience in special education or a related field and/or prior administrative experience in an educational settingDemonstrated ability to develop relationships with and work effectively with people of diverse cultures, ages and economic backgrounds in a culturally competent and sensitive mannerKnowledge of NYSED special education and Section 504 services and programs, educational requirements and achievement metrics and performance measures, as well as facility interpreting data and using data for quality improvement purposesHigh level of organization and multitasking skillsUnderstanding of program management, including program planning, operations and evaluation, and management systems across the continuum - Pre-K - age 22. Demonstrated skill with regards to administrative and performance aspects of programs and ability and willingness to adjust and respond to changesStrong leadership skills, including the ability to measure and achieve programmatic goals Ability to articulate a compelling vision of the new district programs PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide leadership and oversight of the District’s Special Education and Section 504 programs and servicesCommunicate timely and effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff, administrative council, Board of Education, external agencies, districts, BOCES, and the NYS Education DepartmentCollect and analyze student and District-level data within the programsSupervise and lead a team of certified and classified faculty and staff, including but not limited to special education teachers, school counselors, school psychologists, school nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech/language pathologists, to support effective implementation of student programmingOversee reporting and compliance, including preparation and submission of all reports and data for the federal, state, and district monitoring of grant funded programsParticipate in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified staffAnalyze budgets, revenues, expenditures, adjustments, and grants in collaboration with the Business Office Coordinate relevant professional development and training for staff members in conjunction with the District Professional Development CommitteeConsult with District colleagues to develop, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of new and existing programsProvide leadership and support for the District’s Mental Health and Wellness CommitteeServe as the District Educational Officer, Foster Care Point of Contact, McKinney-Vento Liaison, and Home School Coordinator LETTER OF INTEREST& RESUME TO: Dr. Adam VanDerStuyf Acting Superintendent North Salem Central School District 230 June Road North Salem, NY 10560 (914) 669-5414, ext. 1016Fax: (914) 669-8753 E-mail: avanderstuyf@northsalemschools.orgOn-line application preferred: www.olasjobs.org/lhv
