POSITION: CSE Chairperson The North Salem Central School District is seeking candidates for the position of CSE Chairperson for the 2026-2027 school year. The CSE Chairperson will chair CSE, CPSE, and Section 504 meetings district-wide. This is a full-time 10-month position on the North Salem Teachers’ Association (NSTA) Salary Schedule. LOCATION: District-wide SALARY: As per NSTA Salary Schedule qualifications: Demonstrated ability to develop positive, trusting relationships with families, students, faculty, and staff in support of students with disabilities. Valid NYS certification is required which could be in the area of students with disabilities, school psychologist, social worker, and/or speech and language pathologist. Successful professional experience in special education or a related field and prior experience as a chairperson. Knowledge of NYSED special education and Section 504 services and programs, educational requirements, achievement metrics, and performance measures, as well as interpreting data and using data for quality improvement purposes High level of organization and multitasking skills to support finalization of documents in a timely fashion to foster trust within the educational system. Understanding of special education program planning, operations and evaluation, and systems across the continuum of special education from preschool through age 22. Proven ability and willingness to adjust and respond positively to changes as they occur within the educational system. Strong communication skills to support proactive planning for students’ needs. Strong experience with supporting IEP alignment and goal development.
