POSITION: S.T.E.A.M. Teacher EFFECTIVE DATE: September 1, 2024 LOCATION: Pequenakonck Elementary School FTE: 1 FTE -QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification(s) Birth to Grade 6 Required APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 20, 2024 Performance Responsibilities: Integrate CSDF standards. Deliver S.T.E.A.M.-oriented instruction in a relevant and innovative setting integrating Project Based Learning methods. Work with principals, Instructional coach, and teachers to use test data to improve the content and delivery of the school Science 21 curriculum. Create and update the S.T.E.A.M. curriculum. Collaborate with library media specialists and gifted and talented teachers to develop and enhance enrichment opportunities. Integrate district initiatives to increase sustainability practices in the school building as well as include local agricultural studies into the curriculum. Manage the materials and resources for the S.T.E.A.M program and lab. Promote the integration of S.T.E.A.M. concepts through experiential learning opportunities including incorporating the 21st Century K-12 Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards of NYS. Use various technology platforms to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration. Utilize multiple instructional technologies to engage students and enhance instruction. Foster discovery and problem-solving skills, along with an inquiry-based approach to learning through real-world hands-on tasks. Attend professional development and training related to S.T.E.A.M programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research. Follow the district’s job description for elementary education teachers. Organize, develop and coordinate special S.T.E.A.M. events/activities.
