December 10, 2026Posting #67By: Dr. Adam VanDerStuyf Confidential Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools/District Clerk Anticipated PositionFebruary 1, 2026 The North Salem Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Confidential Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools/District Clerk effective February 1, 2026.Responsibilities include: providing confidential clerical and administrative support to the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education. Handles all confidential correspondence for the Superintendent of Schools.Superintendent’s liaison with the Board of Education, staff, and the community.Provide the necessary support to the Superintendent as a confidential employee to ensure central office focus on providing for quality educational outcomes in the most efficient and effective manner possible.Provide customary clerical support.Provides clerical assistance to the Board of Education members as needed.Works cooperatively with all administrators, faculty and staff, outside agencies, and other school districts regarding NS district-related matters.Provide administrative support to the Superintendent and relate the policies and practices of the school district through communication and action.Organizes, produces, and distributes all Board of Education meeting agendas and meeting minutes via BoardDocs.Arrange for conference participation for the Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education members as needed.Attend Policy Committee meetings.Organize and run the Board of Education's annual budget vote and any Special District Votes.Responsible for any school election day needs including voting equipment, workers, ballots, set-up, etc. (Work with Tech Dept and/or Westchester County Board of Elections, as needed).Creates Reorganization Meeting agenda and ensures that all required matters are acted on by the Board of Education.Work with the Assistant Superintendent of Business Administration to create and publish the budget vote timeline.Submit all legal notices for publication in newspapers.Policies—keeps adopted policies updated on BoardDocs. Attend All Policy Committee meetings.Performs a variety of related activities as required. Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to interface with administration, the Board of Education, district staff, and members of the NS community. The ability to organize and prioritize are essential in this role. Prior District Clerk experience preferred. This anticipated position is a full-time, 12-month position. Hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and Board of Education meeting attendance is required - approximately 2 times per month-evenings. Medical, dental, vacation, sick, and personal benefits available.
