Candidates will be considered based on their demonstrated ability to do the following: Establish and maintain rapport with students, foster a welcoming and affirming classroom environment, and address inappropriate behavior using a restorative approach. Implement Geometry units and develop lessons aligned with the expectations of the NY Next Generation Learning Standards in collaboration with a certified Math Teacher in a co-teach environment. Co-plan and prepare lessons that reflect differentiation in student learning styles and abilities and use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. Structure student activities and assignments to ensure instructional practice is current with best practices and provide accommodations and supports in alignment with students' IEPs. Participate in CSE meetings and work with the Special Education department to write and revise student IEPs and . Conduct and maintain ongoing assessments of student achievement and behavior, both formative and summative, using appropriate assessment methods.
