City School District of New RochelleEmbracing Diversity: Driving SuccessThe City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a Middle School Assistant Principal effective October 10, 2023. The Assistant Principal will serve as an essential partner in the Principals Leadership Team. The AP will assist the school Principal in the daily leadership, coordination, supervision, and management of the total school program and operation. The Assistant Principal, under the leadership of the Principal, ensures compliance of all BOE policies and Superintendent’s regulations. In the absence of the Principal, the AP shall assume the duties and responsibilities of the building principal. Responsibilities of the position are divided between two Assistant Principals and include, but are not limited to, the following:Help create and measure school-wide goals aligned to the vision and mission of the school and district, including those related to student learning and student behavior.Responsible for all elements of master programming and scheduling students and staff.Consistently review student data (academic, attendance, behavioral) to ensure appropriate placement and delivery of intervention services and programs.Develop and implement the master schedule, working in conjunction with the principal and department leaders.Prepare monthly reports.Coordinate academic talent search initiatives for respective grades.Facilitate monthly grade level meetings for respective grades.Serve as the testing coordinator for all NYS and local assessments.Conduct Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) evaluations.Supervise after school activities.Work with the Assistant Director of Special Education to ensure compliance of IEP services.Work with clinical staff to ensure 504 compliance.Oversee student supervision and discipline for the respective grades.Assist in coordinating and supervision of grade activities (recreation nights, trips, incentives etc.).Active member of the building safety team. Coordinate mandatory safety drills Collaborate with families and community groups.Coordinate PBIS, restorative practices, and other initiativesAttend evening meetings.Other duties as assigned by the Principal The ideal candidate has exceptionally high standards with a student-centered approach and philosophy; an eagerness to learn and the mindset of being a life-long learner; a record of facilitating instructional gains; and an ability to build strong relationships with all constituents.
