City School District of New Rochelle Embracing Diversity: Driving SuccessThe City School District of New Rochelle is seeking highly qualified candidates for Facilitators of Special Education (CPSE/CSE Chairperson) positions.The responsibilities of Facilitators of Special Education include:Implements and maintains procedures for the operation of the CPSE and CSE Works cooperatively with parents, outside placements and the school district to coordinate programs and services as a result of CPSE and CSE meetings Assists with the agenda, schedules meetings of the CPSE and CSE, invites mandated members to each CSE meetingServes as the chair of CPSE and CSE meetings and makes sure the IEPs are accurately developed and finalized Works cooperatively with the preschool staff/agency and county to place students in an appropriate program Reviews evaluations and teacher reports and shares any concerns with the Assistant Director of Special Education Uses data to inform all practices and recommendations Attends training provided by BOCES & CSDNR to stay informed of all NYS laws and regulations pertaining to special education programming and services Supports the referral process in accordance with standard procedures Attends RTI/MTSS meetings for students who are receiving TIER III interventions Facilitates group processes, in CPSE/CSE meetings, so that all parties are heard and are involved in the process Communicates with principal/staff regarding recommendations for students Maintains program recommendation data to support the Assistant Director of Special Education in monitoring staffing needsDiscusses any potential out-of-district placement with the Assistant Director of Special Education as soon as possible Supports the administration of education evaluations and classroom observations of students Communicates with staff and parents regarding special education programming and services Develops Interim IEPs for transfer students (entering the school district) Attends staff meetings with the Assistant Director of Special Education to ensure proper communication and expectations for the department Ensures that all IEPs are finalized for the current school year by the last day of school Avails opportunities to work additional hours over the summer Performs special assignments as needed (i.e., provides classroom coverage for a sustained period of time, not day-by-day) Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by their supervisor.
