QualificationsKnowledge of the ASCA modelCollaborate and establish relationships with high school coaches.Establish relationships with college athlete recruiters.Serve as the liaison between college athlete recruiters and students/guardians.The ability to forge relationships with parents and community agencies.The ability to collaborate with parents and their caregivers, school administrators, teachers, and other members of the pupil services team.Manage NCAA account including the submission of transcripts and ensuring that potential Division I, II & III student athletes are NCAA eligible.Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and providing student information to prospective colleges and employers, as required by district procedures and applicable laws.Strong background, experience, and knowledge in social emotional learning.Uses a variety of methodologies to evaluate students’ aptitudes and abilities.Experience assisting students in evaluating their aptitudes and abilities through the interpretation of standardized test scores, classroom data, and other data points.Experience developing attendance plans, academic improvement plans, and behavioral plansCoordinates with administrators and other staff to ascertain individual student’s abilities and needs, including students with special needs and English language learners.Experience obtaining and disseminating information regarding occupational opportunities to students and to classes studying occupations.Assists with the registration and orientation students who are new to the school regarding procedures and educational opportunities.Assists students in making course and subject selections, as well as with evaluating career interests and choices.Assists students and families to secure summer learning, weekend, and after school learning opportunities.Serves as ready resource to students to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.Plans and coordinates field trips to institutions of higher learning, businesses and other organizations related to guidance responsibilities.Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
