City School District of New RochelleEmbracing Diversity: Driving Success The New Rochelle City School District is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated high school English as a New Language/English Teacher for the 2022 - 23 school year. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues to have a lasting impact on the educational setting. Candidates are considered based on their demonstrated ability to do the following: Collaborate with ENL co-teacher to prepare culturally relevant lessons that are student-centered and address the needs of diverse learners.Collaborate with ENL co-teacher to develop and implement units of study by using the Understanding by Design framework and address skills aligned to the Common Core Learning Standards.Establish and maintain a rapport with students and families that fosters a classroom environment conducive to learning and addresses behavioral concerns using a restorative approach.Utilize Webb’s Depth of Knowledge to structure student activities and assignments and embed instructional practices aligned with current educational research.Conduct and utilize ongoing assessments of student achievement, using both formative and summative assessments and plan for next steps.Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process.Use systems to maintain accurate records that are visible to students and families.Attend staff and in-service meetings/workshops as required.Actively pursue personal and professional growth opportunitiesPromote and abide by school procedures, policies, and directives in administrative and educational matters as established by the school administration and board of education. New York State certification in English 7-12 is required. ENL certification is preferred, but not required.
