City School District of New Rochelle Embracing Diversity: Driving Success The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Kindergarten Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) Special Education Teacher. Successful candidates must hold appropriate New York Sate Special Education certification Birth-Grade 2. Responsibilities Include: Deliver specially designed instruction aligned with kindergarten grade-level curriculum and New York State Learning Standards within an inclusive ICT setting. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related services providers, and support staff to plan and implement differentiated instruction that supports the academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and functional needs of diverse learners. Develop and implement individualized supports, accommodations, modifications, and behavior strategies in accordance with students’ IEPs. Monitor student progress toward IEP goals through ongoing assessment, data collection, progress monitoring. Carry out and maintain all instructional aspects of a student's IEP. Completing progress reports and Annual Review reports for the IEPs. Foster a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that supports early childhood development, independence, communication, and peer interaction. Communicate regularly and collaboratively with families regarding student progress, strengths, and areas of need. Participate in grade-level planning, professional development, CSE meetings, and collaborative problem-solving teams. Supports students in developing foundational literacy, numeracy, communication, behavioral regulation, and social-emotional skills. Qualifications: NYS Special Education Certification (Birth-Grade 2) required at the time of application. Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills are preferred. Experience working in inclusive elementary settings and with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
