Special Education Leave Replacement: 15:1:1Sea Cliff School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Leave Replacement Teacher to join our 15:1:1 special education classroom team. The teacher will provide individualized instruction, support, and guidance to students, ensuring they receive a meaningful and inclusive educational experience. Responsibilities:Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in a 15:1:1 classroom, adapting lessons to meet the academic, social, and behavioral needs of each student.Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, functional skills, and social-emotional learning.Collaborate with the classroom TA, ENL teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and support staff to ensure students’ needs are met.Collect data and maintain accurate records on student progress, behaviors, and accommodations.Participate in CSE, 504, or other relevant meetings as needed.Implement behavior management strategies and support to promote positive student behavior and engagement.Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, goals, and classroom updates.Support students’ transitions, both academic and social, within the school environment.Qualifications:Valid New York State Special Education Teaching CertificationExperience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a self-contained or 15:1:1 classroom setting preferred.Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies, behavior management techniques, and individualized learning approaches.Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.Ability to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Flexibility, patience, and a commitment to student growth and well-being.
