The successful candidate will possess a strong ability to: Provide student-centered, engaging Living Environment instruction for a range of learners at multiple levelsPossess a strong commitment to creating a supportive learning environment and school cultureDeliver effective instruction to prepare for the NYS Science Regents exam and beyondConduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as neededPossess a proven ability to interact effectively with students and their families who represent cultures that are diverse in terms of race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and other characteristics in order to build an effective and collaborative school communityRecognize how to support and be responsive to all learnersOrganize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.Demonstrate a willingness to advocate for students when issues of equity emergePossess a valid NYS certification in Living Environment (7-12). (NCSD provides guidance and support for Science majors who do not currently possess teacher certification)
