The successful candidate will possess a strong ability to: Connect, inspire and empower students in a physical education classroomPossess familiarity with current research, methodology and learning standards in Physical EducationServe as a coach for one of our District athletic teamsImplement behavioral management strategies to support students in meeting classroom expectationsEstablish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with colleagues, students and the broader communityPossess a proven ability to interact effectively with students and their families who represent cultures that are diverse in terms of race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and other characteristics to build an effective and collaborative school communityOrganize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable lawsPossess New York State Certification in Physical Education and preferably, Health. Proven experience in teaching and coaching is desirable.
