The North Merrick UFSD anticipates a vacancy for an Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations. This is a full-time, Probationary Position .QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s Degree/NYS Certification as School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Business Leader (SDBL)Minimum of five (5) years administrative experience and/or experience as a successful leader in the areas of public-school finance, budget development and management and business office operations. Strong understanding of all aspects of the Business Office inclusive of grants, vendor services and payments, procurement, payroll, benefits, tax collection, and risk managementKnowledge and/or experience in fiscal planning, execution and monitoring of the district’s financial operations Proven ability to work effectively with students, staff and parents; good human relations and supervisory skillsGreat communication and organizational skillsFUNCTIONS:The Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations is responsible for developing and promoting practices which are both fiscally and educationally sound, and which will provide optimum educational opportunities for students in the North Merrick School District. In accordance with these responsibilities, as chief fiscal and financial administrator, the duties of the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations shall include:Responsible for overall financial operations of the district, including development and maintenance of annual budgets and long-range financial projects.
