The New Hyde Park-Garden City Park UFSD is currently accepting applications for a full-time, probationary Orchestra teacher position. Ideal candidates for this position are talented, experienced, and innovative professionals committed to working collaboratively with colleagues to build an engaging and effective foundational music education for young students. Responsibilities include instructing students in grades 4-6 in all orchestra instruments, conducting the Orchestra, and teaching general music classes for Grades K-6. Classroom and performance experiences will be planned following the NYS Learning Standards for the Arts, emphasizing content knowledge, music literacy, and sequential skill development. Expert knowledge of instrumental pedagogy, repertoire, and performance practice is a must. Candidates should have a strong orchestral skill set.
