The New Hyde Park-Garden City Park UFSD is currently accepting applications for an Orchestra Leave Replacement teaching position. Ideal candidates for this position are talented, experienced, and innovative professionals committed to working collaboratively with colleagues to build an engaging and effective foundational music education for young students. Responsibilities include instructing students in Grades 4-6 and directing the school orchestra. Classroom and performance experiences will be planned following the NYS Learning Standards for the Arts, emphasizing content knowledge, music literacy, and sequential skill development. Expert knowledge of orchestra pedagogy, repertoire, and performance practice is a must. Candidates should have sufficient piano skills. Developing positive relationships with families, colleagues, and, the wider NHP-GCP community are essential qualities for applicants seeking this position and are attributes that will help ensure our music program remains a vital and indispensable part of the educational experience for our students.
