PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide assistance to the school principal. REPORTS TO: Principal PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist the principal in the implementation, supervision and assessment of the total school instructional program. To assist the principal in the selection, assignment, orientation, and evaluation of staff. To coordinate the assignments of and to assist with supervision of student teachers and volunteers. To assist the principal in the supervision of student conduct and extracurricular activities. To assist the principal in the departmental budgeting process and the acquisition of supplies and supplementary materials for instructional usage.Assist principal with observing employee performance, record observations. Serve as second appraiser for designated teacher appraisal system. Assist principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff, including substitute teachers. To assist the principal in the coordination of programs and services supplementary to the instructional program. Supervise operations in principal’s absence. Help plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules. Assist with safety inspections and safety-drill practice activities. Ensure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods. Help to develop and oversee PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support program). Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers. Participate in professional growth to improve skills related to job assignment.
