As a daily substitute teacher, you will play a vital role in providing continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. As a daily substitute, you will report to the district each day and may be asked to provide coverage for a wide variety of classes/duties.Responsibilities:Curriculum Delivery:Deliver high-quality instruction based on the established curriculum and lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.Implement creative and engaging teaching methods to enhance student understanding and participation.Classroom Management:Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.Enforce school policies and procedures to promote positive behavior and discipline.Student Support and Assessment:Provide individualized support and guidance to students, addressing their academic needs and emotional well-being.Assess and evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, and projects, providing timely feedback to students and the regular teacher.Collaboration:Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive and integrated educational experience for students.Attend department meetings and professional development sessions as required.Communication:Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.Maintain open lines of communication with the regular teacher and keep them informed of classroom activities and student achievements.Classroom Environment:Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture that fosters students' academic growth, critical thinking, and social development.Encourage a love of learning and promote a respectful and supportive atmosphere among students.Technology Integration:Utilize educational technology and digital resources to enhance learning experiences and engage students in meaningful ways.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Education or a relevant subject area.Valid New York State Teaching Certification or appropriate substitute teaching permit.Previous experience in teaching or substitute teaching is preferred.Knowledge of New York State Learning Standards and educational best practices.Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.Flexibility and adaptability to handle diverse student needs and classroom situations.
