NYS Certification Students with Disabilities K-12, or SWD Birth-2nd ; Preferred additional certification of Early Childhood Education Birth - Grade 2.The Pre-Kindergarten SCIS Classroom Teacher is responsible for delivering developmentally appropriate instruction to preschool children with and without disabilities in an integrated classroom setting. This role involves implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), supporting social-emotional and academic development, and working collaboratively with teaching assistants, related service providers, families, and administrators to meet the needs of all students in accordance with NYSED Part 200 regulations.Key Responsibilities:Provide developmentally appropriate instruction to a diverse group of preschoolers, including students with disabilities, per their IEPs.Design and implement differentiated lessons using evidence-based early childhood instructional strategies.Work in collaboration with general education teachers, teaching assistants, therapists, and families to promote student growth.Facilitate inclusive play, social-emotional learning, and language-rich activities.Participate in CSE/CPS meetings, and provide documentation and progress reports in accordance with NYSED guidelines.Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment aligned with early childhood best practices.Implement classroom routines, behavioral supports, and positive reinforcement techniques.Collect data on IEP goals and participate in regular team planning and professional development.Communicate regularly with families to share progress and support home-school collaboration.
