Job Summary: The Discipline Officer will be a key member of the school community, responsible for leading discipline initiatives and ensuring that all students adhere to the school's code of conduct. The ideal candidate will work proactively with principals, guidance counselors, MTSS committees, parents, and the broader community to foster a positive and respectful school environment.Key Responsibilities:Discipline Monitoring and Enforcement:Monitor student behavior and ensure compliance with the school’s code of conduct.Maintain accurate and up-to-date disciplinary records.Parent and Guardian Communication:Make phone calls to parents and guardians regarding student behavior and disciplinary actions.Communicate the importance of following the code of conduct and collaborate with parents to address behavior issues.Collaboration with School Staff:Work closely with principals, guidance counselors, and teachers to develop and implement strategies to promote positive behavior.Participate in school discipline team meetings/MTSS meetings and contribute to the development of behavior improvement plans.Community Engagement:Develop and implement positive behavior initiatives and campaigns aimed at improving student conduct.Engage with community organizations and stakeholders to support discipline improvement efforts.Organize and participate in community outreach events to promote the importance of positive behavior.Intervention and Support:Identify students with chronic behavior issues and develop individualized intervention plans.Work with families to address underlying issues affecting behavior, such as social, emotional, or family dynamics.Provide resources and referrals to families in need of additional support.Documentation and Compliance:Maintain thorough documentation of discipline-related activities and interventions.Prepare reports for school administration and district officials as required.
