Math AIS Teaching Assistant will perform many leadership, organizational, and classroom management tasks to support both teachers and students. Their duties and responsibilities often include:Helping Teachers with lesson preparation, including collecting materials and setting up equipmentReviewing lessons or lectures with students on a one-on-one basis or in small groupsSupervising students in class, and between classes,Tracking attendance, grading assignments, and calculating gradesGiving extra help to students who need special accommodations or are struggling with a conceptAssisting students with special learning requirements, including disabilities or English as a second language studentsAttending faculty meetings and parent conferencesCollaborating with the Teacher to identify students’ issues and recommend solutionsObserving state, school, and class rules and regulationsLevel I Teaching Assistant, Level II Teaching Assistant, Level IIITeaching Assistant (will be considered)Qualified candidates will be responsible for instructing smallgroups in AIS Mathematics instruction. This position will work withelementary students and will assume the responsibilities ofco-planning the curriculum, managing a small group, working withstudents at multiple levels, professional development, and creatingopen communication with parents and staff. Responsibilities alsoinclude participation with school-wide events.
