Title: Daily Part-Time Reading TeacherPrevious Applicants Need Not Apply Description: To carry out the district-wide plan to improve the reading achievement of all students assigned; to develop and implement lesson plans to provide diversified reading strategies and activities specifically designed for targeted students. Expectations: Evidence of use of student test data, running records and other assessment tools to guide instruction; interpret information from both formal and informal assessments for planning instruction Consistent implementation of best practices, including differentiated instruction; model ways to engage for the range of skill levels and developmental needs Knowledge of language development, the reading process, and the components of reading performance to assess and instruct. Support the implementation of resources, assessments and programs with respect to Literacy Assess children throughout the school and identify children at risk; assess and diagnose the learning, social, and emotional needs and styles of students, using a variety of assessment techniques Compile and share data to be shared with building administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, etc. Communicate with parents, as needed, seeking their support and advice, so as to create a cooperative relationship to support the child in the school.
