Hours: 8:15am-3:00pm Time Period: July 5-August 15, 2023 Description: The Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Classroom Teacheris responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans to provide instruction specifically designed for students in a 12:1:1 summer program. Teacher reports directly to the ESY Coordinator and the Executive Director of Pupil Personnel Services and Special Education. Expectations:Plan and implement daily lessons and activities, including individual, small group, and whole class instruction, in accordance with student IEPsImplement all aspects of the students’ IEPsMaintain communication with parents on an ongoing basisMonitor students’ progress through data collectionRecord and report student attendanceUtilize Positive Behavior Classroom Management techniques based on developmental needs of studentsWork cooperatively with classroom, shared and 1:1 paraprofessionalsCommunicate progress of students to ESY Coordinator, Executive Director of Pupil Personnel Services and Special Education and support staff, as neededOther duties, as assigned Requirements:Valid New York State Teacher Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities, required Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members Employment Term: This is an hourly position, for 30 days, from July 5-August 15, 2023 only.
