Title: Elementary Art Teacher Start Date: August 30, 2023 Pay Scale: As per the NBTA Contract Description: North Bellmore is seeking two probationary K-6 art teachers. Expectations: Plan classes and appropriate grade level assignments according to standards for the students in grades K-6 Have a diversified knowledge of various art forms, such as digital arts, photography, printmaking, cinematography, calligraphy, jewelry designing, and fashion designing Introduce techniques and procedures for painting, sketching, designing, and sculpting Impart knowledge on the history of art, illustration, and commercial art through lectures and audio-video aids Encourage students to develop personal styles and express themselves through the medium of art Develop students' drawing, coloring, and painting techniques Provide instruction on the use of media such as graphite and charcoal pencils, as well as oil, acrylic and watercolor paint Evaluate assignments - make observations and offer constructive criticism Organize field trips to museums and art galleries Foster an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, social and emotional development of your students Facilitate current initiatives and bring new initiatives into the building(s), including art shows, displays, and contests. Demonstrate an understanding of STEAM interdisciplinary concepts Creates opportunity for involvement with extracurricular activities and after-school events Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Comply with and execute all safety and security protocols/procedures for the building and district Commit to continual professional growth Attend all required meetings and Professional Development Actively engage with the North Bellmore community in fulfilling its mission Requirements: NYS K-12 Art Certification Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members??
