Title: Head Cook Pay Scale: As per the CSEA Contract Description: North Bellmore is seeking a Head Cook position for the 22-23 school year. Head Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of foods for our school lunch program. The Head Cook reports directly to the Director of Food Services and the building principal. Expectations: Prepares and cooks meat, fish, poultry, soups, vegetables, desserts, salads, and other foods Cuts, cleans, and dresses meat, fish, and poultry Assists in the planning of menus and purchasing of foods Supervises the cleaning of kitchen and storage areas Inspects and maintains inventory of food and supplies Maintains time records of all employees Prepares and bakes rolls, cakes, and pies, as required Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment used in largescale food preparation and cooking Knowledge of the principles of dietetics and nutrition Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment Ability to apply established safety and sanitation precautions and regulations Ability to use and care for kitchen equipment and appliances Ability to follow oral and written directions Ability to maintain records Other related duties as assigned Requirements: Completion of eighth grade education One year of satisfactory experience in the large-scale preparation and cooking of food Fingerprint clearance from NYS EOE Employer: The North Bellmore School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in its employment decisions and practices on the basis of legally protected classes in accordance with Federal and State law.
